Double-Hung Windows with Shadow V-groove Single Prairie Design – Cleveland
Stanek® Windows Featured Project – February 2015
The new construction vinyl windows in this 6-year-old Macedonia, Ohio home caused many problems:
- High heating and cooling costs due to significant air infiltration
- Inability to clean the upper sash due to single-hung construction
- Obstructed view due to interior grids
- Outside noise infiltration due to improper weather stripping and thin, under-performing glass
Stanek Windows of Cleveland, Ohio solved all of these issues by installing Stanek® brand vinyl windows.
The homeowners chose a double-hung window with a white interior and exterior finish. The double-hung style of window makes cleaning a breeze with automatic, tilt-in sashes (top and bottom) and all-in-one, thumb-operated locks. Full fiberglass screens and the double-hung style allow for maximum ventilation and improved visibility.
To minimize outside noise, full one-inch, insulated double-strength glass was used. The double-pane glass with argon gas also increases energy efficiency and reduces heating and cooling costs, while the shadow V-groove single prairie designs add visual interest and style to the windows without compromising the view, like the old interior grids did.
Friends recommended Stanek Windows, and the Ohio homeowners are glad they did. They're very pleased with their new double-hung kitchen windows, and "pass it on" by referring their friends and family to Stanek.
The Summit County residents are thrilled with the updated look of their room, and can't wait to share it with family and friends.
