New Siding – Milwaukee
Stanek® Windows Featured Project – October 2014
Longstanding customers, Terry and Patricia, recently completed the exterior makeover of their New Berlin, Wisc., home with the addition of new siding and trim.
This exterior renovation is one of many phases the Waukesha County homeowners have worked with Stanek Windows on. Beginning with a bay window and four double-hung windows, Terry and Patricia later purchased a Stanek® brand patio door. They were so pleased with the quality and energy efficiency of their Stanek brand windows and doors that they purchased 13 additional double-hung windows in 2012.
Recently, the couple decided to replace their home's old, wood siding with LP®-brand siding. This particular siding won out over a fiber cement or vinyl type because of its natural material. LP SmartSide® siding has a zinc borate compound that is applied to either wood strands or wood fiber to protect against fungal decay and termites. Not only does LP have the appearance of real cedar, it can withstand extreme heat, cold, humidity and rainfall without cupping or warping.
The addition of Raindrop® 3D breathable house wrap provides superior drainage and water resistance qualities, while foam insulation will increase energy efficiency. Installing a Raindrop gutter system will keep gutters free from leaves, twigs and other debris.
Finally, the fascia, soffits and porch ceiling received aluminum trim was added, and decorative PVC wraps were put on the columns to give this home an updated, contemporary look with real curb-appeal.
